Or at least Switchback pretending to be one....

BUT IT IS FINISHED HOLEY MOLEY THIS IS TWO YEARS OF WORK. NEVER AGAIN.
Its a trade with :iconenaxn: that was started two years ago (I think) Its in a folder for 2012 :P  And we both finished our halves this year.  My main problem with this, was that I drew it over a long period of time. So each time that I restarted on it, I had improved, and could see all my previous mistakes, and as such, had to redo areas AGAIN. But I'm proud of what I've accomplished. When I began, the thought of a full on background was terrifying, and working on that water took me much much longer than it should have. Now, I am happy to say that it would not take me even half as long to make this piece!
I hope that you like it enaxn, you're a super sexy person, and ilu thanks for trading with me. It was a blast, I really enjoyed working on it slowly over all this time.

This seems to be a couple of years old piece but I still wanted to pop by and say that the colours are gorgeous! All those green and turquoise hues are just so nice. The lights, shadows and overall values are very nice and the darkness of the shadows really gives an impression of deep, lush forest.
The water looks really nice, too! It's a subject that is usually difficult to paint but I think you did well. So your work was worth it! I especially like those small glimmering particles at the bottom of the pond.
I know it's sometimes a bit eh to give critique to older pieces but you never you, you might still learn something. The only thing I'd criticize a bit is that waterfall (?) behind Switchback. It's nice as an element and brings something more to the image as such but I think composition wise it's a bit out of place. It draws too much attention from the central subject, which is Switchback. If you cover that part the composition still works fine and the viewer has a better opportunity to focus on the character and observe the environment. The waterfall is a solitary element with a high contrast value (as it seems to be the lightest subject in the picture) so it really stands out and draws attention to it. A few ways this could be fixed are turning down the brightness or just overall making the water streaks thinner. The origin of such 'big' waterfall is also a bit of a mystery here because it kinda comes out of nowhere. If if falls from the trees from some unseen source it could just be a series of lighter, not so bright water streaks that fall down here and there. Then it wouldn't draw so much attention to it.

But yeah, great work nevertheless! Forest sceneries are my weak spot.
